The hollow space inside a tooth contains soft tissue called pulp. Decay, cracks or trauma to the mouth can cause the pulp to become irritated, inflamed or infected. When this occurs, endodontic treatment is needed.
The most common form of endodontic treatment is known as root canal therapy and is where the inside of a tooth requires cleaning and/or removal of infection.
When you need Endodontic Treatment?
- Tooth discoloration
- Tenderness and swelling of the gums near the infected area
- A recurring pimple on the gums
- Tooth sensitivity when exposed to cold or hot temperatures
- Severe toothache when chewing
